Brainy Janie and the Homework Machine (children's chapter book)

She is the girl who always sits in the front row, always raises her hand when a question is asked, and always answers correctly. Straight-A student, Janie Jo, or better known by her classmates as Brainy Janie, is classified as the teachers pet. She is also known for her many crazy inventions and wacky ideas. As difficult as it is for her to make friends, she never gives up trying to “fit in.” The perfect opportunity presents itself when Janie is paired up with one of the most popular boys in school, Brandon, as her science partner for a big project. Brandon decides their project is a guaranteed A without any effort on his part, and lets Janie do all the work. She doesn’t object to this, as this is her chance to make her best invention yet and show Brandon how “cool” she really can be.

Friends Gone Bad (upper YA)

Izzy Allen has something most people want, though not everyone has. Something most take for granted and don’t miss until it’s actually gone. I’m talking about friends. Not the “hi how are you? I see you every day but don’t really talk to you,” kind of friends. But the real friends who tell you how dumb you are when you do something stupid, or tell you when you’re wearing too much makeup. Or not enough.

Izzy Allen always thought friends were made to last. She had the type of long lasting friendships other girls were jealous of. Then, one by one, her friends start dropping like flies. Six chapters, six friends. Izzy will take you through each friendship, each bizarre and crazy situation. Are Izzy’s ex-friends really psychotic, or did she play a major role in the break ups? Through the chapters, Izzy learns more about herself than she ever wanted to know. She realizes growing up isn’t always easy and the secret to keeping good friends is, well—not much of a secret after all.

Flowers in the Fishbowl (children's fiction)

When Annie picks some flowers in the garden but cannot find a vase, she decides to use the fishbowl instead. But what about the fish? The end result leaves Annie with a terrible tummy ache.

This story will be appearing in the June 2007 issue of Dragonfly Spirit.

The Great Toothcapade (picture book)

When Maggie loses a tooth, she comes up with what she believes to be a brilliant idea. All she needs is a few extra teeth under her pillow and the tooth fairy is sure to leave enough money to buy her mom a birthday present. Now, all she needs to figure out is how to get the teeth by next week.

Smelly Jelly (picture book)

Sophie Ann learns why it's important to take a bath every night. She then believes anything that smells must be dirty and needs a bath too. Slowly, Annie fills the tub with all the "smelly" things around her house but soon realizes there may not be enough room left for her.
